Hello my name is Kaitlyn Schmid, I am a passionate mental health and student advocate. I am honored to be a professional who has the opportunity to impact a vast amount of students, approaching every concern with an individual and student-centered framework to help a child establish a healthy level of development.

I have completed my Master’s degree in Counseling Services with a concentration in School Counseling, a Certification in Student Assistance Coordination, and Licensure as a Licensed Associate Counselor. During my tenure as a counselor I have demonstrated my ability to implement individual counseling services reaching children with diverse concerns using Motivational Interviewing techniques and a student-centered approach. I have coordinated and ran several small counseling groups including a Healthy Boundaries Group, Changing Families Group, Stress Management Group and a Girls Group on Self-esteem and much more. With counseling experience in Prek-12th grades, in demographically diverse school settings, I have been able to construct classroom lessons, initiate action programs such as a Character Education Fair and coordinate faculty and parent presentations on contemporary topics. I have also had the opportunity to work closely with administration, fellow counselors and teachers to build genuine and lasting relationships. Finally, I have developed a comprehensive SAC program consisting of Social-Emotional Learning, Mindfulness, evidence based programs, Substance Abuse Prevention, accountability, data collection, and implementation outline.

Please take the time to view the various professional and practical resources I have implemented. You will find group counseling curriculums, classroom guidance lessons, and other programming services.
